Warm encouragement and honest check-ins
How you'd train together
You both like someone keeping you going. One of you is motivated by celebration, the other by accountability, and a trainer who does both, warmly and clearly, can keep you both turning up.
Where you might want different things
Honest feedback can feel flat to one of you and useful to the other. Agree that praise and straight talk both have a place, and ask the trainer to be clear about which is which.
What to look for in a shared trainer
- Lists a supportive or direct coaching style and says how they adapt to two people
- Describes how they set goals and check in on them, and how they mark progress
- Is clear about what's expected between sessions while keeping the mood encouraging
Trainers on TrainingLink describe their own style. Browsing by style is a starting point, not a guarantee.

A light-hearted starting point for choosing a coaching approach, not a scientific personality test. Preferences change, and that's fine.
