A clear plan with the reasoning behind it
How you'd train together
You both like structure. One of you wants to understand the plan; the other wants to follow it and be held to it. A trainer who writes a clear programme and can explain every part of it will suit you both.
Where you might want different things
Questions can feel like a delay to one of you and essential to the other. Agree when the explaining happens, perhaps at the start or end of a session, so the planner gets on with it and the learner still gets the answers.
What to look for in a shared trainer
- Lists a technical or direct coaching style and says how they adapt to two people
- Mentions programming and tracking progress, and describes how they set goals and check in on them
- Is clear about what's expected between sessions, and why
Trainers on TrainingLink describe their own style. Browsing by style is a starting point, not a guarantee.

A light-hearted starting point for choosing a coaching approach, not a scientific personality test. Preferences change, and that's fine.
