Clear goals and honest check-ins, together
How you'd train together
You both like a plan and someone keeping you to it. Sessions together are likely to be purposeful, with goals set, progress reviewed and little time wasted. You may well keep each other accountable too.
Where you might want different things
Two planners can have two plans. One of you may want to push the pace; the other may want to stick to the programme. Agree the goals together at the start, and let the trainer be the referee.
What to look for in a shared trainer
- Lists a direct coaching style and keeps feedback respectful
- Describes how they set goals and check in on them
- Is clear about what's expected between sessions
Trainers on TrainingLink describe their own style. Browsing by style is a starting point, not a guarantee.

A light-hearted starting point for choosing a coaching approach, not a scientific personality test. Preferences change, and that's fine.
